The proprietors of the Kensington Hotel have prepared this statement to facilitate those guests who may require additional assistance to understand the design and support structures in place at the above location.

Key Points to note

  • The Kensington is situated on the seafront in Great Yarmouth
  • It has two storeys
  • Access to the building can be made via the car park entrance into the bar which requires negotiating two steps of from the front of the building which has both step and ramp access designed to accommodate wheelchairs
  • Reception is located on the ground floor
  • Porterage is always available on check in and departure and throughout guest stays if required
  • Service dogs are very welcome and guidance can be provided whilst on site
  • The premises has an L2 fire system and guests are required to sign safety procedures on arrival and to indicate additional needs by placing the recommended red safety notice on the door handle of their room
  • Floors, rooms and fire exits are clearly labelled using words and icons
  • There is a lift provided to the first floor. If guests do not wish to take the platform lift there are 13 steps to the first floor
  • There are 3 ground floor bedrooms
  • On the first floor there are 11 bedrooms
  • On the second floor there are 8 bedrooms
  • Two bedrooms can be accessed by going up to first floor in the lift going down four steps and then up four steps
  • There are guide rails on stairs to first and second floors
  • All rooms have tea, coffee making facilities, hair dryers and shaver points. They are en suite and have TV remote controls
  • Wi fi is available at no extra charge
  • Corridors are well lit for access
  • Reception staff will assist in calling taxis and giving local directions . They will also print route maps and advise on bus timetables
  • An emergency contact number is located in reception and someone is on site continuously
  • Both the restaurant and bar areas are on the ground floor with no step access once inside the building
  • Breakfast is self-serve buffet selection for cereals etc. and waitress/ waiter service for hot choice
  • Evening dinner is completely waiter service
  • Special diets are catered for

  • Reception can provide details of several local resources for the hire of modifying equipment designed to enhance guest comfort e.g. bathroom aids, mobility scooters etc.
